Lisa Brown, Post Graduate Intern
Lisa Brown is a master’s level Mental Health Counseling Student at Northwestern University. She has a desire to help people navigate all aspects of life in a healthy way despite challenges, big or small. Raising awareness of problematic thoughts, patterns, attitudes, beliefs and behaviors is key, as she works to empower clients to improve their lives. She offers caring support and a safe space, allowing clients to uncover and explore aspects of themselves and their life that do not serve them well.
Currently, she works with patients with a variety of concerns related to depression and anxiety. As someone who values holistic health, she utilizes her rich personal experience and academic knowledge to facilitate healing by encouraging the use of mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual faculties to reach a more balanced state of being. She provides psychoeducation that encourages clients to build their own custom toolbox for creating lasting change. Utilizing an integrated approach to therapy, she draws mainly from Psychodynamic, Cognitive-Behavioral, Person-Centered, Multicultural, Existential, and Solution Focused approaches.
“I truly believe that healing is a journey that begins with hope and the desire for something better. Counseling is a vehicle to help you get there.”
