Shaniqua Ford, MA, LSW
Shaniqua Ford is a licensed social worker who earned a Master of Arts from the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration and BSW from Governors State University. Shaniqua has four years of experience in community mental health practice and substance abuse treatment. She practices from a social justice, ecological and humanist framework, with a racial cultural lens. She offers expertise in the areas of mental health, mental health and faith, identity, trauma informed care, chronic and complex health. Additionally, Shaniqua has had training in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and the Gottman Method.
Life can offer unexpected challenges, transitions, and endings, which can be difficult to navigate on our own. Shaniqua works to help individuals make effective changes in their lives, cultivating genuine connections with a person-centered and strength-based approach. She is experienced in helping with emotional, thought and behavior related difficulties, relationship issues, and trauma, as well as problem-solving, effective communication, and time-management.

Hours: Wednesday and Thursday evenings, and Saturdays.
