Trusting Yourself

Let’s look at the topic of TRUST. Not just trust in others but most importantly trust in yourself. Self-trust means that you can take care of your needs and safety. It means you trust yourself to survive situations, and practice kindness, not perfection. It means you refuse to give up on yourself.

Trust means to rely on or place confidence in something. Trusting yourself means you need to rely on or place confidence in order to create the life you want. In order to do this, I encourage you to take stock. What skills and knowledge do you already possesses? Take inventory of what skills you have and want others would help you on your journey. One way to do this is to write down everything you know about or need to make the changes you desire to make. You may be surprised at how much you already know.

Now that you have an inventory of the skills and knowledge you possess, let’s take a look around you at the people in your life. Who is supportive? Who is undermining your efforts? You might need to have a heart to heart talk with those who are undermining your efforts to live a lifestyle you desire. Let them know how important it is to you that they respect your choices. You can do it! You are definitely worth it!

Standing up for what you believe in and need can be tough sometimes. Remember you are valuable and well worth the effort. What promises can you make to yourself? The promises you made to yourself are those things that allow you to live that lifestyle you have developed. You keep your promises by continuing to follow your plans and accomplishing your goals.

We all know that it is really difficult to trust someone who speaks disrespectfully to us. The same is true when we bad talk ourselves. When you use negative self-talk your brain starts to think it is being attacked and will begin to not trust the thoughts produced. This week start and end each day with a positive affirmation. If you are feeling like an extra challenge, say it a few more times during the day. Not sure what to say? Pull from a few below:

I am powerful and loving, and I have nothing to fear.
I’m am respected, trusted, and professional so doors of opportunity and abundance are opening.
I trust in the power of love to heal and guide me in all ways.
My inner self always knows what to do.
I trust my own intuitive insights.
I trust myself to deal with each new development with wisdom and grace as it arises.
I matter and what I have to offer this world also matters.
I am more than good enough and I get better every day.
I adopt the mindset to praise myself.
I fully approve of who I am, even as I get better.
I press on because I believe in my path
The past has no power over me anymore

Until next time….
