David Swanson, CADC, CAMS-II, NCPRSS
David spent his first career working in engineering in the U.S. and the U.K. He completed an AAS
degrees in Computer Aided Design from Schoolcraft College in Michigan. David’s second career is
in Social Work as he completes his BSW at Governors State University. David also has professional
experience as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Certified Anger Management Specialist and
National Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist. David has led therapy groups with multicultural
adult clients with substance use and mental health disorders who have experienced loss and trauma.
David believes that earning a client’s trust is the foundation of creating a relationship.
